Proposed ALA International Governance Structure Changes

Please take in the next few days to review the proposed governance structure changes at www.alanet.org - click on "About" then "Governance Structure" at the bottom of the list. All members wll be able to vote on these changes starting next MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4. In essence, the proposed change will eliminate the existing regional structure and instead provide the same or hopefully a stronger level of support from the international association to the Chapters as well as to our independent members, through the creation of a Chapter Resource Team whose members can be dispatched as needed to assist Chapters in accordance with their needs. Chapters would not necessarily be siloed by regions either - we could possibly partner up with Chapters of similar size or with similar challenges regardless of geographical location, to our mutual enrichment. No additional costs have been incurred, nor are any anticipated to implement this change.
