If tragedy strikes and you are unable to continue your law practice, who will deal with your clients, their legal matters and your business? What will you leave for your unsuspecting spouse, life partner or business partners to handle? All Arizona lawyers must have some type of "exit" plan to remain in compliance. Even if you aren’t permanently unable to practice, who will handle your clients so that you still have a business when you’re ready to return? And how will you navigate to your exit when you decide to retire? This seminar will explore Rule 41(i) Ariz. R. Sup. Ct., and provide you with a roadmap for creating your own exit plans.

Maria S. Mason, CLM is the Business Director for Greenberg Traurig in Austin, Texas. She has worked in legal management for almost 19 years, with firms from DC to Maine to Hawaii. She holds a volunteer regional leadership position with the Association of Legal Administrators, networking with colleagues all over the country. Through her professional and volunteer experience she has developed a passion for helping attorneys with both succession and contingency planning.

Patricia A. Sallen is an ethics consultant and attorney in private practice. She teaches at local, state and national ethics-related CLE seminars and is an adjunct professor of professional responsibility at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. She also writes frequently on ethics topics. She formerly served as Director of Special Services & Ethics/Deputy General Counsel for the State Bar of Arizona.

This complimentary presentation is being offered by National Bank of Arizona and GLJ Benefit Consultants.

Proposed 2018/2019
Arizona Chapter Officer Slate

While the proposed slate of voting officers was to be voted on at the February Chapter Luncheon pursuant to Chapter Bylaws, the Nominating Committee was still working on securing a position. It has been filled and we are now able to submit the slate to the Chapter for a vote to be held during the March 27, 2018 Chapter Luncheon at the University Club. If approved, these positions will take effect on April 1, 2018. We need a 25% quorum to approve the nominations so your presence is requested. If you are unable to attend the Chapter Luncheon, please send your proxy to non-voting Committee Member Jerri Buchtel.  Below is the Nominating Committee’s proposed 2018/2019 Voting Board Members:
